Join us and spinner extraordinaire, Deborah Everson White, here on our alpaca farm in Murrumbateman for this fascinating and informative fibre spinning workshop. The 7 hour Create @ Blackwattle session is designed to help yarnies develop the knowledge, technical skills and confidence you need to spin fibre into your own, totally unique yarn! A very hands on and practical workshop, you will use your newly mastered techniques to make your very own skein of hand spun yarn for knitting, crocheting or weaving into something fabulous!

The session also includes morning tea, coffee and an opportunity to join us after the session for a complimentary alpaca hand feeding experience (weather permitting). 

Class Requirements:

To participate in this workshop you will need a functioning spinning wheel. If you are bringing a wheel with you, please ensure it has been serviced and is in full working condition.
If you would like to participate in the workshop but do not have a spinning wheel at your disposal, we will have a maximum of 4 wheels available to rent for the workshop. These are available at a cost of $30 each for use during the session.

Summary of inclusions:

  • 6 hours guidance from a highly experienced spinner.
  • Intimate small group setting - plenty of opportunity for questions and demonstration.
  • 1 x 100 gram pack of themed Ashford Corriedale Sliver (RRP value $11.50)*.
  • Morning tea.
  • Sit down lunch.
  • All day tea and coffee.
  • A complimentary hand feeding experience with our alpacas, after your lunch break.

Fibre Selection:

*As mentioned, this workshop includes a 100 gram pack of our multicoloured themed Ashford Corriedale fibre to work with. We have 8 different colour packs to choose from:

  • SUMMER - green tea, kiwifruit, bean sprout, lime, mint, spearmint, green.
  • AUTUMN - scarlet, orange, purple, magenta, tangerine, chilli pepper, raspberry.
  • WINTER - white, bubblegum, indigo, lagoon, blueberry, lilac, blue.
  • SPRING - cupcake, candy floss, marshmallow, pansy, strawberry shortcake, grape jelly, lavender.
  • PASTELS - white, honey, mint, lavender, cupcake, ice, fog
  • FURRY FRIENDS - white, grey, chocolate, butterscotch, toffee, cookie, liquorice.
  • RAINBOW BRIGHTS - red, orange, yellow, green, turquoise, magenta, purple
  • FLURO - fluro lime, fluro orange, fluro pink, fluro yellow, fluro blue, liquorice, natural white.

Please let us know your preferred fibre pack colour in the booking notes, so we can ensure it is here ready for you on the day. 

You will also have the option to purchase additional fibre types and colours from our farm shop on the day, either to use during the workshop or to continue spinning at home!
