  • Duration: 4 Hours (approx.)
  • Location: Murrumbateman, NSW

Our Introduction To Knitting workshop is designed for anyone who is new to knitting and is looking to start their crafting journey. Join us and local Canberran knitting guru, Clare Lovell, here on our alpaca farm in Murrumbateman to learn the bare basics of knitting and purling, during this 4 hour Create @ Blackwattle session.

The knit and purl stitches that Clare will teach you in this session will form the basis for your next level of learning. There are so many ways to combine knits and purls to create all sorts of different stitch patterns and different knitted textures, once you have these basics mastered!

During this workshop you will be working with a machine washable 8ply DK weight merino wool, of which two 50 gram skeins will be provided. A set of ChiaoGoo 4mm bamboo tip knitting needles and the matching interchangeable ChiaoGoo Twist 55cm Red cable are included to get you started.

The workshop cost also includes afternoon tea & coffee and a complimentary alpaca hand feeding experience! (weather permitting).

About the tutor, Clare Lovell

We have had the pleasure of partnering with Clare when founder of Canberra's former Stitching Room, a stockist of Blackwattle Yarns. Clare brings with her a wealth of knowledge regarding sewing, knitting and crocheting. For Clare, these crafts have been a way to unwind. She loves being able to create something from nothing, and feel the textures of wool between her fingers as she knits and crochets.
