Watch our alpaca and llama boys strut their stuff on our one and a half hour walking tour! Stroll through the paddocks with one of our halter trained alpacas or llamas until you reach our picturesque dam. Here you will be able to take photos and give your new fluffy friends lots of rewarding pats and cuddles. Lead your alpaca or llama back to the stables where you have the chance to fill their hungry bellies by hand feeding them some tasty pellet muesli! Llama just going to say, this is a very hand on and memorable experience! $250 is for up to 4 people.
Duration: 90 minutes
Experience includes:
- One alpaca or llama for each paying person.
- A walk, with your alpaca/llama, to our picturesque dam.
- A chance to pat, cuddle and take photos with your alpaca.
- A hand feeding session.
- An experienced tour guide to answer all your alpaca and llama questions.
- An informative talk about farming alpacas in Australia and what their fibre produces.
- A visit to The Blackwattle Farm Shop which is full of yarns, wools, fibre, roving, packs, gifts, toys and goodies galore!
Age restrictions: The Alpaca Walking Tour is suitable for ages 7+ years. Participants must be able to understand instructions and hold on to/guide an alpaca safely and independently.
We recommend the Alpaca Hand Feeding tour for groups with children aged 7 and below.
If you wish to bring children under the age of 7 please contact us. Please be aware the tour may be adjusted to ensure the safety of all participants.
Prices: Please book a tour for the number of participants in your group. Prices start at $250 for up to 4 people over the age of five. Children 2 years old and under are free of charge. This is a private tour with a maximum of 10 guests per tour. All children must be accompanied by paying adult. Children 7 years old and under, and those who are not confident, will be required to walk an alpaca or llama using a second lead.
Special Notes:
- You will be entering the paddock where the animals live, so please ensure you listen to and abide by all instructions that are given to you.
- Our alpacas and llamas are not restrained during hand feeding sessions, as such they are free to engage in or leave this portion of the tour as they choose.
- Please wear enclosed shoes to the farm and gumboots if it has been raining.
