Learn to Crochet at our Crochet Club - Make your own Blanket Workshops

Join us here on our alpaca farm in Murrumbateman for our ever first Crochet Club Workshop - Make a Blanket. The workshop package, that consist of 4 x 5 hour Create @ Blackwattle sessions have designed to teach crocheters more advanced techniques and skills to enable them to make the Field of Flowers Blanket. Make one or two squares during the workshop - then make more at home!

During these 4 workshops, Clare, will guide you through the basic stitches and techniques to create the granny squares needed to complete this really beautiful blanket. Clare will also teach you how to join the square together seamlessly. 

This workshop is suited for advanced beginners and beyond, or for those wanting to join a social crochet group. 

What you will get:
  • 45 balls of 8 ply Marble DK yarn - 16 x balls each a different colour and 29 x balls of silver (the blanket base colour)
  • 1 x Blackwattle Branded Calico Carry Bag
  • 4 x 5 hour workshops (over a 4 month period)
  • Intimate small group setting - plenty of opportunity for questions.
  • Light lunch.
  • A hand feeding experience with our alpacas.

All the yarn supplies, that you will need to complete this blanket, the pattern and carry bag are supplied at the first workshop date. If you can't attend the set dates as noted above we will issue you a voucher that will allow you to book yourself into any of our Lunch & Lunch Workshops (until the end of 2025). At time of booking, or at the first workshop, please let us know if the above dates do not suit and we will issue the vouchers enabling you to book a date that suits you!


About the Field of Flowers Crochet Pattern: The pattern was designed by Catherine Bligh. This blanket is composed of a single repeating square, and the border is designed such that you can use it for any size of blanket made using this square. However, the blanket itself is designed to use up most of a ball of each colour; if you make the full blanket, therefore, you should end up with only small quantities of yarn leftover.

Yarn supplied details: the yarn supplied in the kits are 29 balls of silver and one ball each of the following colours: denim, cobalt, marine, turquoise, aqua, leaf, green, emerald, cement, mustard, watermelon, tangerine, red, cerise, musk and mulberry.
